1R Tried Our First Mystery Skype

The mystery Skype classroom was located in North Carolina. We got it on our second guess - well done 1R detectives!!

1R students participated in our first mystery Skype.  To prepare, we learned more about the location of our state such as whether it is east or west of the Mississippi River, the region it is in, whether we border the Atlantic Ocean, and so forth.  During the Skype, 1R students answered those types of geography-based questions from the other classroom.  They were able to guess that we are located in Massachusetts.


Then, we had the chance to ask questions to figure out where the mystery classroom was located.  When we had the information that their state borders the Atlantic Ocean, has a two-word name and bordered Georgia, we guessed South Carolina.  We were wrong!!  We didn't realize that North Carolina ALSO borders Georgia!  That was the mystery location.


It was a lot of fun to participate in a mystery Skype, and a great way to practice our geography skills!
