We were so excited to perform the first of our two reader's theatre plays, Bentley Bunny's Fairy Tale, via Skype. We read for a classroom of second graders in Kansas. Our 1R performers did an incredible job!
We enjoyed being the audience for some reader's theatre plays performed by a classroom of second graders from Kansas! We are the audience for two days this week and perform on the other two days. The boys and girls love connecting with students from around the country and the world to enhance our learning.
We learned about the -ay word family, with a particular focus on the days of the week. Here, students are sharing their favorite aspects of Mondays!
We love to have Secret Readers come to 1R on Friday mornings to share some special picture books with us!
All of the first graders here at Baker School learned the #GimmeFive dance as part of the Let's Move Initiative to help promote good health in children. Inspired by First Lady, Michelle Obama, and talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, we learned the steps and kept on "moving"! We hope you enjoy our efforts!! We are learning about figures and their attributes. 1R students are working on identifying figures with one or more shared attributes. They are doing an incredible job with this work!
We are reading the Arnold Lobel classic, Frog and Toad Are Friends. Students choral read the book and then participate in a range of follow-up activities to support our comprehension of the story.
