When we read orally, we try to hold our paper so we don't block our mouths and speak loudly. It is also important to be a good listener when our classmates are sharing. We are working hard on these skills!
We used Google Maps and our classroom globe to talk about Christopher Columbus and his voyage from Europe to the Bahamas. We then read the book, 1492, to learn more.
Based on the lesson,1R students each wrote what they thought of Columbus and a new question they now have about him. They did a great job sharing their work with the class!
