Terracotta warriors

We have begun our social studies unit on China this week in 1R! Students enjoyed investigating the Terracotta Army. The boys and girls looked at pictures and non fiction texts to learn more about these sculptures that depicted the army of the first Emperor of China. We then did an art project where the students each created their own terracotta warrior. We had fun using bright colors to make them look as they did when they were buried over 2,000 years ago!
